Services
Below is a listing of some of the procedures we perform at the dental office of Dr. Charles Cline, DDS. If you have any questions about procedures not listed here, or you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact us at 713-936-2021.
Dental Fillings
We use white, or tooth colored, dental fillings in our procedures. These white fillings are being used more frequently today than the silver, mercury fillings. The great thing about these fillings is that they serve the same purpose as the silver fillings, but they also have a cosmetic property to them; they're almost undetectable and look real. We have patients come in often to replace their old siver fillings with these new white fillings.
Root Canal Treatment
Sometimes a patient will come into the office with a toothache, expecting to be treated with a crown because thier fillings are hurting, or one fell out. We will look at the x-rays and find that there is decay that has reached the canal of the tooth, so it is therefore necessary to get a root canal as well. If you have a tooth ache, or are in severe pain, please call us immediately. We will review your x-rays with you to talk to you about the best option.
Crowns & Bridges
Advances in dental technology allow us to replace chipped or broken teeth with dental crowns. Usually when a tooth is chipped or broken, the root will still be in tact, leaving enough tooth structure to allow for a crown. We prepare the tooth and then place a real looking crown on the top of the root. These crowns are sturdy and last a long time. If you lose a tooth, you may be in need of either a dental bridge, or dental implant. Please contact us for an exam, so we can see which option will be best for you.
Veneers & Laminates
When damage to a tooth doesn't require a crown, the use of a veneer or laminate may be appropriate. Veneers and Laminates can improve a person's smile and help improve confidence because of how great they look in a patients mouth. They are used to fix issues like; teeth that are discolored, worn down, and teeth that are chipped and broken. In certain situations, veneers can be used to close gaps in teeth and even fix misalignment issues.
Dentures & Partials
Dentures and partials these days have some exciting applications because of how real they look, and how well they work. Traditional, but advanced, dentures may be used, but also implant dentures might be a great option as well. Dentures and partials today are much more comfortable and work much better because of advances in technology. Dr. Cline is a Denture expert, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you want to schedule an appointment.
Dental Cleanings
Coming in for your routine dental cleaning (prophylaxis) and checkup is important for your overall health. Studies have shown that having a healthy mouth can contribute to having a healthy body. When teeth aren't cleaned and taken care of, bacteria forms generally in between the teeth, as well as around the base of the crown where the gums meet. This bacteria is unhealthy and gets ingested every time you swallow and can cause many other problems related to your health. Please keep your teeth healthy. Come in for your checkup!
Extractions (Wisdom Teeth)
Wisdom Teeth Extractions generally happen in a child's teenage years, and sometimes adults can also get their wisdom teeth taken out. There are several reasons why wisdom teeth may need to be taken out. Wisdom teeth can grow in crooked and grow into the other teeth causing impaction and discomfort. They might also grow in the right way, but there might not be enough room in the jaw and someone might experience irritated gums in the back of their mouth. Coming in for your routine checkups can eliminate many of the wisdom teeth issues before they happen.
Mouth Guards - Night Guards
Bruxism is the term used for someone who is a grinder or clencher. Grinding or clenching your teeth can cause cracking of teeth, or the wearing away of tooth structure and can sometimes lead to issues with the jaw and even migraines. Some patients have come into our office complaining of migraines and we were able to help them alleviate a lot of pain with the use of a night guard. Also, jaw pain or TMJ issues can be prevented and or alleviated with the use of proper night guards meant to reduce the wear and tear of the joints. If you know you are a grinder or clencher, or if you experience jaw pain or frequent migraines, please don't hesitate to come see us. Give us a call today!
